Boise

The Quarry trail in Boise offers steep climbs and great views of the city and the old prison. From the Old Idaho State Penitentiary, follow trail 15 and just before reaching the top, turn right on trail 17. The whole loop is about 3 miles long, with a challenging 825-foot climb. Stay on the trail and pay attention to rattlesnakes. Especially if you go in the morning you will find many runners.
