Ask the Penguin
Once an overweight couch potato with a glut of bad habits, including smoking and drinking, at the age of 43 John "The Penguin" Bingham looked mid-life in the face, and started running. Through his popular monthly column in "Runner's World" magazine, his break-through first book "The Courage to Start" and his best selling "No Need for Speed", he has inspired hundreds of thousands of men and women to run for fun, fitness, and self-affirmation. His book, "Marathoning for Mortals", co-authored by coach Jenny Hadfield, revolutionized long-distance running and walking. This is a window into the Penguin's mind.

THEY said she had made all the progress she would make last August. WE said they didn't know Roselyn Bingham.

My first visit to the French Quarter was in the late 1970's [some of you will have to ask you parents about the late 1970's] I was in the Army Band, I was young, and I was an idiot. And - you guessed it - there was alcohol involved.
