London

Start at Hyde Park Corner and head down Constitution Hill, to the Queen Victoria Memorial. Turn left down The Mall past St. James' Palace and Clarence House (homes of the Prince of Wales and the Queen Mum), then turn right down Horse Guards, back into the park. Circle the lake, exit the park and then turn right back onto The Mall, through Admiralty Arch to Trafalgar Square, where one-armed Lord Nelson stands watch on his column. Ahead is the National Gallery. Turn right down Whitehall onto Parliament Square past the Houses of Parliament on your left and Westminster Abbey on your right. Turn left to cross Lambeth Bridge, make a left along Lambeth Palace Road, then left again over Westminster Bridge. Stop for a moment and check out the British Airways London Eye – this gigantic wheel is the hottest ticket in town for a 30-minute ride above the skyline. Return to Parliament Square. Continue straight on Great George Street up Birdcage Walk, turn right just before Buckingham Palace, up Constitution Hill to Hyde Park Corner. You have seen the heart of historic London. Distance: 5,5 mile loop.
