Eugene

The Ruth Bascom riverbank bike paths extend from Springfield on the east, to west Eugene and back encompassing both sides of the beautiful Willamette river. The surface alternates between asphalt and concrete. Five footbridges span the river and mileage markers are evident for much of the route. Popular starting points are Alton Baker Park, Eugene Water & Electric Board and Valley River Center. The bike paths are within a short jog from many Eugene hotels as well as the Eugene Running Company store. Parts of the bike path are lighted. Restrooms and drinking fountains are always nearby. A popular route for local runners is to run a combination of intersecting sections of the bike paths and Pre's Trail in and around Alton Baker Park.
