By Bob Birch - Location: Bat Bridge river front park, downtown. Distance: approximately 4 miles along river with longer 5, 7 and 10 mile loop routes possible via bridges. Surface: wide, flat, crushed rock and dirt path, some sidewalks and asphalt. Safety: heavy use, good till dusk, then watch 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats exit the south end of the Congress Avenue bridge (April to October)!
