Where to run in Auckland (New Zealand)

By J. Leigh Walker - Waitemata Harbour is the main access by sea to Auckland, and for this reason it is often referred to as Auckland Harbour. Find the Tamaki Drive which is along the southern shoreline of Waitemata Harbour and ends at St. Heliers Bay, it is a good place to run. The name Waitemata comes from the Maori language, referring to its waters that were said to glint like obsidian, a volcanic glass prized by the early arrivals to the harbour. For runners also the Auckland Domain is popular.
